Stand-up paddling is not only great for humans, but is also extremely enjoyable for our four-legged friends. Experiencing a lot together - that's the magic formula for a great dog-human relationship!

For the start, we meet in a quiet corner of the Chinagarten near the Zürichhorn to familiarize you with the board on land. After the "dry runs", we head to one of the small beaches along the lake and the adventure can begin.

Rent a Board

If you have successfully completed one of the courses, you can rent one or two boards from me (if you want to take someone else with you; without another dog). Of course there will also be a life jacket for your dog!

What awaits you on the SUP adventure

Introduction on land
We start in a relaxed environment on land. You will receive a short introduction to SUP basics, including paddling technique, balance and safety equipment. The equipment includes: SUP board (incl. paddle & foot leash), life jacket for your dog and a drybag for your belongings.
We will then include your dog in the lesson and teach him to sit or stand on the board, first alone and then with you, and to get used to the life jacket.

Practicing on the beach & in shallow water
Now it's off to the shallow water! Here we practice getting on the board safely, the first paddle strokes while kneeling and the balance between you and your dog. You'll learn to read his body language and gently get him used to the water. I'll also show you how to get in and out of the water safely with your dog and what you should look out for in terms of weather and water conditions.

Paddling on the lake
Now it's getting exciting! We venture further out and put what we've learned into practice. You paddle across the lake together with your dog, enjoying nature and gaining more and more confidence on the board. Depending on the course you book, you can continue practising and enjoy your time on the water.

Fantastic experience with your dog! Melinda is incredibly organized and thorough providing for a great paddle board adventure. She initially does dry land training to make sure you and the dog are comfortable on the board, everyone understands the equipment and how to safely be on the water - you then have everything you need to venture out and paddle board! The added bonus is Melinda provides you will several photos after the fact which is amazing! Cannot say enough good things - would highly recommend and hope you get a beautiful sunny Zurich day - have fun!
